Matters of the Chicken and the Heart

I’m a bit too late to be wishing folk a Happy New 2017 – although I have just sneaked in under the January wire here – but not too late for a hearty “Gung Hei Fat Choi”, or in other words Happy Chinese New Year! This is the start of the Year of the Rooster, although when I lived in Hong Kong, it was commonly known as the Year of the Chicken!! If you want to know more about this Year of the Fire Rooster, this is a fun read.

I am not sure when the chicken got promoted to rooster, but in any case, chicken/roosters don’t let the grass grow under their (chicken) feet but are highly motivated, busy people. Despite not being a chicken (I’m a tiger), I am generally pretty active – even if my lack of recent blogging appears to the contrary. I have been buisier on my Facebook page which I find handy for sharing reflexology related items quickly. I have just posted an offer for that other upcoming holiday, Valentine’s Day, and if you would like to treat yourself and someone you love for $120 let me know before the big day and I will happily send out a gift certificate. With all that is going on right now, who doesn’t need a little loving kindness?

On a different note, but close to my own heart, is the work of NYSRA, my state reflexology association, and I have recently been invited to join the board to fill a spot which has become temporarily vacant. I am honoured to have been asked and will work like a rooster to contribute to the hard work of this committed group.
