Don’t let this happen to you!

Following up on last week’s post about lovely soaps gives me an excuse to share a couple of photos that made me smile, and to pass on some tips to help us avoid looking like this when the lockdown ends.

A friend asked me if I could suggest a remedy for the consequences of so much hand washing, namely dry, wrinkly, sore skin. I love the luxury of the shea butter hand creams from L’Occitane , and I swear they make the much cheaper dupe usually sold during the holidays at Trader Joe’s, but I have two more economical and very effective recommendations. Gloves in a Bottle is a fantastic shielding lotion which’ bonds with the outer layer of skin cells’ to protect against the drying effects of frequent washing. The company also makes a version with SPF which can be used on the face. O’Keefe’s Working Hands is non-greasy, absorbs quickly and protects for a long time. The company also makes an excellent restorative cream specifically for use overnight and an equally good range of products for the feet.

Speaking of the feet, as we are all stuck indoors with nowhere to go, now is the perfect time to try out the cult foot peel, Babyfoot. I know from experience that it works extremely well, the problem is finding a good time to try it because it does exactly what it promises and your feet WILL peel! But do it now while binge watching one of the many shows we currently have the time to indulge in, and by the time we emerge this summer your feet will be in good shape for your sandals. I really like the review and the tips for use here and suggest following their recommendations.

As for my Easter soap gifts, they went down well with the family, especially the basil, mint and coffee which is even husband approved, but I think I may hold off on sending everyone a foot peel!
